Submission guidelines
-
Personal reflections from individuals of all backgrounds, including experiences shaped by culture, migration, illness, disability, service, aging, loss, or major life change
-
Stories grounded in lived experience, written with the intention of sharing insight, resilience, remembrance, or connection with a broader community
-
Narratives that explore themes of identity, belonging, survival, healing, and growth.
-
Submissions written with care for both the writer and the reader, avoiding graphic descriptions and respecting emotional boundaries
-
Stories that honor privacy and consent, particularly when referencing family members, communities, or shared experiences
-
Contributions that reflect what was learned, endured, or carried forward, rather than aiming for perfection or polished storytelling
-
Writers are encouraged to share only what they feel comfortable offering, at their own pace and in their own voice

Remember, anything else can be a journal story---don't be scared to pitch your idea!
